The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.

The 653A cyan toner contains HP's special formula ColourSphere toner powder, this ensures every print has a professional, glossy finish as well as making sure quality of your prints are consistent. This original toner can be used alongside original toners and compatible toners in your printer and toners with different page yields. So you can use the mix of toners which best suit your needs. You'll never need to replace a drum unit in this printer, this is the part the prints the toner powder into its shape, as each toner cartridge will always have a drum attached to it. Not only does this mean a lower running cost but also your printer is maintained more regularly so it can perform at its best all the time. The printer has a waste toner collector cartridge too; this makes sure there's no excess toner powder left in the printer. When this is full the printer will alert you so all you'll need to do is remove the old one and place a new one in. The toners are just as easy to replace simply slide the old one out, remove any packaging from the new toner and then slide the new in its place.
