Yes, you can certainly buy cheaper alternatives, but these HP cartridges are not that expensive considering that they seem to last a good length of time and give consistently high quality of results in my HP Office Jet Pro 8600 e all-in-one. So much so, that The Xerox laser printer that I supposedly bought for the high quality work gets less use than I imagined. That's partly due to the printer, but also the quality of the ink used.
Installation is extremely easy, and there is no need to do anything other than continue normal printing.

How much ink is in a HP 950 & 951 Original cartridge?
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.
