The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.

Replacing the 302 cartridges is quick and easy, to start you'll need to lower the paper output tray if it's not already. Then reach inside the printer, grasp the handle, then lower the ink cartridge access door. Then wait for the cartridge carriage to stop still. The empty cartridge can then be removed by lightly pressing down on it and then lifting it out towards you. The new cartridge can then be put in its place and pushed in at a slightly upward angle until it clicks in.
The 302XL tri-colour ink is packaged in its own box so if you're not ready to use it straight away you can store it for up to 6 months without its quality or performance being affected.

Excellent product, print quality is what I would expect and it lasts for a long while. Wouldn't bother buying a cheaper, refill type again as this is far superior.

How much ink is in a HP 302 Original cartridge?
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.

If you choose a high-capacity (XL) version of this cartridge it will still fit in your printer. The size of the cartridge is the same, but they are just filled up more to provide you with extra prints, often at a substantially lower cost per page printed.
