The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.

The cartridge/s you need to remove can then be lifted out by squeezing the tab on the front at the same time. The new cartridge can then be put in its place, it just needs pushing down until you hear it click in.
The 33XL magenta ink cartridge is packaged in its own box so it can be stored for up to 6 months without its quality or performance being affected.
