This High Capacity Compatible Epson 405XL Black Ink Cartridge is quoted as doing up to 1100 pages before needing to be replaced.
The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.

The cartridge is easily replaced once it's empty, simply open the cover and remove the empty cartridge by squeezing the clip on the side and lifting it out. The new one drops into its place and clicks down with a push.

All four cartridges printed well and then faded to grey after around 20 prints. Our model is listed as a compatible printer, whether this was a dodgy batch? But I have had to purchase further cartridges on the High Street in order to print. Utter pish!
