Printer status showed a full cartridge but a print head clean and 2 test prints produced nothing. The electrical contacts looked OK but I decided to clean them with alcohol. I also inserted and removed the cartridge several times before trying again. From that point on the cartridge has worked and produced satisfactory prints. I have never before experienced such a problem with a new cartridge, either original or compatible (mainly Peach) and it leaves doubt about reliability. The cartridge has no integral status LED - is that correct?

Regarding the LED light the cartridges will normally light up if the printer recognises that it is genuine, if not it will know that it is a compatible, and remain unlit.

Easy to install, excellent print quality with my Canon Pixma MP600 , good cartridge life and no problems with clogging. Already re-ordered for my printer and have recommended to friends and family.
I guess I was unlucky with this cartridge. My canon MP600 refused to accept it. But a quick email to Stinky ink and a replacement was immediately in the post, no quibble. The replacement was fine so obviously the original had a fault. great service as always. I wouldn't use any other company.
Having used stinky ink cartridges for approx. 4 years and had no problems until last week when 2 magenta cartridges failed to work ,from reporting this to the office who delt with the situation very professionaly and dispatched 2 replacements which I received the next day my printing is now back to normal , I shall continue to use stinky inks with whom I am very satisfied with there quality inks
Ink cartridge works fine. No compatibility problems, good colour, excellent service.
Minor quibble: when first removing the protective strips, the ink dribbled a little. This causes no problem if you have a tissue standing by.

How much ink is in a Canon PGi-5 and CLi-8 Compatible cartridge?
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.

Will this compatible ink cartridge work with my printer?

What are firmware updates?
Firmware updates are updates put through your printer by the printer manufacturers (e.g. HP, Epson, Canon etc.). The update can contain code that stops any third-party cartridges from working, so that you can only use original brand cartridges. In most cases you cannot undo this update, but you can switch updates off to prevent it.
Do the cartridges display ink levels?
Yes, these cartridges are designed to work no differently from originals, so all the same functions should be available.
The cartridges look different to the originals or ones I have had before, will they fit my printer?
Third-party cartridges must be designed to differ slightly from the originals, to fit in with legal copyright requirements. However, the cartridges are still made to fit in your printer and are tested rigorously to ensure compatibility with your printer.
