This Compatible Brother LC223 Yellow Ink Cartridge is quoted as doing up to 550 pages before needing to be replaced.
The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.
These Compatible Brother LC223 Yellow Ink Cartridges are brand new cartridges made by a third party company as a money saving alternative to using the genuine Brother ink. They're fantastic inks that give you:
This compatible yellow is manufactured to strict quality guidelines and standards, guaranteeing you get the best print quality in your Brother printer at a fraction of the cost.
A compatible ink cartridge is brand new cartridge made by a third party manufacturer rather than Brother. The cartridge still has the same 12-month quality assured guarantee. It's also been tried and tested to make sure it's every bit as good as the Brother original cartridge.
The compatible LC223 yellow ink cartridge prints just as many pages as the original Brother cartridge too, which is up to 550 vibrant yellow pages.
With the same easy installation, the compatible LC223 yellow cartridge installs into the printer just like the original Brother cartridge. Open the small cover on the front of the printer and remove the old cartridge by pushing down on the clip at the top and pulling it towards you. After removing any packaging, the new cartridge should be slid into the slot and then pushed backward until you hear click into place.
The cartridge is packed into its own box, so if you're not ready to use it straight away you can store it for up to 6 months without its performance being affected.
So order your compatible LC223 yellow ink cartridge today and enjoy free, fast delivery.

This product was sent to me as a replacement (printer would not install cartridge) ,I am glad to say that the replacement was recognised straight away by my brother printer.I must mention that Stinky Ink sent the replacement within a few days of my informing them of the problem.I know from past orders that their products are second to none at a very reasonable price point and quality is mostly excellent. I will keep on ordering products from them as long as standards do not drop appreiciably.
I use a Brother MCF printer unfortunately I cannot comment on the quality of this cartridge as the installation could not be completed.Printer repeatedly asking for cartridge to be re-fitted.I have tried various methods of overcoming this error without success .I am sure this is an isolated fault as I have used Stinkyink cartridges on various printers without problems and they all give excellent quality prints. This particular cartridge was part of a multipack.I have recently fitted one more cart ridge (black )without a problem ,I just hope that the rest install ok.
Hi Kenneth, Sorry that you've had a problem with this cartridge. This review is the first that I can see that you've mentioned it. I'll get a replacement in the post for you today.
Answered by Roy Hamilton (staff member) - December 23, 2016 08:31Use our 'Check this ink fits your printer' box at the top of this page to confirm this cartridge is suitable for your printer model. In most cases the model number is written on the front of your printer.
Note: These cartridges will only work in printers purchased in the UK and Europe. Printers purchased outside of these zones will have different coding and electronics.
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.
This is known as page yield. The number of pages you'll be able to print depends on the cartridge you purchase and the kind of printing you do. The page yields shown higher up the page are based on printing 5% of the area on an A4 page.

Providing you haven't had a recent firmware update (see question below), you shouldn't have a problem. The chips on our cartridges are updated regularly to avoid firmware interference, but in the unlikely event your printer did reject the cartridges, you are covered by our 12-month guarantee.
Firmware updates are updates put through your printer by the printer manufacturers (e.g. HP, Epson, Canon etc.). The update can contain code that stops any third-party cartridges from working, so that you can only use original brand cartridges. In most cases you cannot undo this update, but you can switch updates off to prevent it.
Yes, these cartridges are designed to work no differently from originals, so all the same functions should be available.
Third-party cartridges must be designed to differ slightly from the originals, to fit in with legal copyright requirements. However, the cartridges are still made to fit in your printer and are tested rigorously to ensure compatibility with your printer. We use a small number of trusted suppliers and while the look of the cartridges can vary slightly from each one, they will fit your printer.
It's best to keep a spare, so you'll save money when buying 2 of any item.
These inks can be stored for 1 year without affecting performance + are covered by our money back guarantee to give you full peace of mind.
