This Compatible Brother DR1050 Drum Unit is quoted as doing up to 10000 pages before needing to be replaced.
The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.
Product description
When your drums wearing out the printer will let you know it needs to be replaced, so you'll need to order a new one. When you open the print the drum and cartridge are removed together, you'll see a clip on one side, it's normally blue, move this clip to un-clip the toner cartridge from the drum and then carefully take the toner out. Then get the new drum slide the toner into it and move the clip to clip in into place. The new drum and the toner can now be inserted back into the printer as one. And that's it, job done! You can use the compatible 1050 drum unit along with a compatible or original toner, it'll still work just the same either way.
The compatible 1050 drum unit has been put through its paces and tested to make sure it's top quality, but just encase you do ever have an issue we have a 12 month performance guarantee in place. I will try again and see for this case I would give them a 3 otherwise it would have been a 5
