This Canon PGI 5BK Black ink cartridge is quoted as doing up to 380 pages before needing to be replaced.
The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.
The Canon PGi 5bk ink also enjoys our free delivery and 100% guarantee, helping you save even more money.

I have used genuine Canon inks in my printer for the last 10 years or so. Great results and still going strong! simple one click installation. Good price and super fast free delivery from Stinky Inks, what more could you ask for?
Thank you for the excellent review and for your continued support :) We hope you have a super week ahead :)
Answered by Tara Ward (staff member) - February 14, 2023 09:37Compared this OEM Canon pigment black against a compatible version on high quality black and white photo prints on Canon semi gloss paper. I couldn't tell the difference tbh but when producing prints for sale it's good to have Canon's guaranteed longevity. Stinky ink service is great and is now my go to ink supplier.
Thanks for the prompt delivery of my inks for my EPson printer, as I only use my printer occasionally I do not use much ink only for printing holiday info for myself and family and the odd holiday photos , the quality of ink you supply is first class and Apart fro the price I see no difference from what I used to buy from EPson , u til my next order , cheers
Unusually took three days to arrive but didn't matter at all. Cartridge worked perfectly as is always so with own brand Canon cartridges.
Canon black ink came quickly as promised. Price was good. I'll be back.
I always use Canon inks with my Pixma 4500, and it's great to find a supplier with reasonable prices and reliable delivery. Print quality is superb with the Canon PGI 5BK, and installation is user-friendly. Highly recommended.
Use our 'Check this ink fits your printer' box at the top of this page to confirm this cartridge is suitable for your printer model. In most cases the model number is written on the front of your printer.
Note: These cartridges will only work in printers purchased in the UK and Europe. Printers purchased outside of these zones will have different coding and electronics.
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.
This is known as page yield. The number of pages you'll be able to print depends on the cartridge you purchase and the kind of printing you do. The page yields shown higher up the page are based on printing 5% of the area on an A4 page.
Learn more about how many pages you'll be able to print with this cartridge in this article.
There are a number of factors that affect the price of original (OEM) ink cartridges. This cartridge is made by Canon themselves so they have ultimate control over the cost Stinkyink pay to stock them. Recent increases in the costs of raw materials and shipping for example have put more pressure prices. However, at Stinkyink we work constantly to keep prices low and offer a price-match guarantee on all original ink products.
Of course, in most cases you have the option save money with a Stinkyink compatible ink, which come with a 12-month money back guarantee. See the product comparison table further up this page for your options.
It's best to keep a spare, so you'll save money when buying 2 of any item.
These inks can be stored for 1 year without affecting performance + are covered by our money back guarantee to give you full peace of mind.
