If you mean the normal canon red paper packs the platinum pro paper is thicker and the finish of the paper is premium glossy rather than just glossy. Giving a better result.
If you mean the Canon luster paper then this has a finish on designed to give you the benefits of glossy paper, bright colour and matte paper, no reflections. The platinum paper is also thicker.
