I'm sorry there was excess toner in the box.
Unfortunately during transportation, sometimes a small amount of toner can come out of the cartridge. It won't affect how it works or how long it lasts, it's just a bit of excess toner.

I generally only purchase recycled HP LaserJet cartridges for my employer. It helps the environment and is much cheaper than buying new. In the past when I bought from elsewhere the quality was mixed - sometimes the cartridges were fine and other times very poor.
