When you receive your new Epson ink cartridge you’ll find a piece of plastic or foil covering the cartridge nozzle, as seen in the below image.
This cover will stand out as it does not have a tab connected to it for easy removal. You DO NOT need to remove this before installing your cartridge. The Epson printer is designed to pierce this cover when the cartridge is successfully installed.
Don’t panic if you have already laboured away to remove this seal. Your cartridge will still work, just be careful when you install it and remember it’s not necessary with any future cartridges.
Finally, please be aware that removing the seal may cause the cartridge to leak.
